The New Marlowe Theatre will provide greatly improved access for all of those customers, visiting artists and staff who use it.
The building will offer:
FOR AUDIENCES
- A front of house passenger lift for patrons
- Accessible WCs on all levels front of house and rear of house
- Flexible wheelchair positions in the stalls level of the main auditorium
- Wheelchair positions at circle and balcony levels of the main auditorium
- Wheelchair positions at floor and gallery levels of the second space auditorium
- Level access to all front of house areas (including bar, café, cloakroom, toilets) at foyer level
- Improved induction Loop and Audio Description Systems.
FOR VISITING ARTISTS AND STAFF
- Fully accessible lighting and sound control positions for technical staff
- Fully accessible rear of house area including stage door, dressing rooms, wardrobe, toilets and office facilities
- A rear of house passenger and goods lift for staff and visiting companies
- Platform lift to orchestra pit
Fundamental to our operation of the New Marlowe Theatre will be an Access Policy that will guide us in reaching out to, and encouraging participation from, all members of the community.
